Client Background
Earthbrain is a joint venture led by Komatsu together with NTT DOCOMO BUSINESS, Inc., Sony Semiconductor Solutions Corporation and Nomura Research Institute, Ltd., driving digital transformation in the construction industry.
Through IoT and SaaS solutions, the company makes construction sites more efficient, transparent, and easier to manage.
In addition to products like Smart Construction and Landlog, the company manages its corporate website, which functions as the public face of the brand.
Like its other sites, the corporate website was built in WordPress and managed by an external agency. Over time, this setup created familiar problems: high maintenance costs, slow update cycles, and limited flexibility.
Challenge
Leadership at Earthbrain made a strategic decision to move away from WordPress entirely and consolidate all of its websites on Webflow.
For the corporate site, the objective was a 1:1 migration rather than a redesign:
- Preserve the existing design and structure.
- Implement localization in both Japanese and English, with slight layout variations between the versions.
- Eliminate dependency on the WordPress agency once and for all.
The depth of this challenge became evident mid-project. Even as Supasaito was working on the migration, Earthbrain asked us to make a small link update on the live WordPress site—something they no longer wanted to pay their agency for. It was a small task, but a telling moment: it highlighted their frustration with the old system and their growing trust in Supasaito.
Supasaito’s Approach
Supasaito managed the migration by working directly from the live WordPress site, without backend access.
Key steps included:
- Rebuilding the site in Webflow with identical design and content.
- Implementing bilingual localization, using components and conditional visibility to manage layout differences.
- Scraping and migrating the news archive so the new site retained its full content history.
Keeping communication light-touch: beyond a few check-ins with the main contact, the client trusted Supasaito to deliver independently.
Results
The new corporate website launched in April, delivering exactly what Earthbrain had hoped for:
- Full independence from expensive WordPress contracts.
- A unified platform, with all of Earthbrain’s websites now running on Webflow.
- Faster, simpler updates that the internal team could manage directly.
- Reinforced trust, as Supasaito successfully executed the project with minimal oversight.
Previously, maintaining and updating the corporate website had cost Earthbrain over ¥7 million in just 16 months. By migrating to Webflow, these expenses were eliminated, as the internal team can now manage updates directly—representing a significant annual cost reduction.
While there were minor delays, mainly due to Earthbrain’s internal process for purchasing the Webflow localization plan, the migration was completed within contractual deadlines. Importantly, Supasaito managed this project alongside multiple other Earthbrain initiatives, balancing overlapping timelines without compromising delivery.
Ongoing Relationship
The corporate website migration further strengthened Earthbrain’s long-term partnership with Supasaito. By moving yet another site to Webflow, Supasaito cemented its role as a trusted partner in Earthbrain’s digital transformation.
Later, Supasaito extended the value of the migration by implementing Make automations that connected Webflow form submissions to Notion, enhancing marketing workflows and improving operational efficiency.
