Client Background
EARTHBRAIN is a joint venture led by Komatsu together with NTT DOCOMO BUSINESS, Inc., Sony Semiconductor Solutions Corporation and Nomura Research Institute, Ltd., driving digital transformation in the construction industry.
Through IoT and SaaS solutions, the company makes construction sites more efficient, transparent, and easier to manage.
Among its flagship offerings is Smart Construction, a suite of tools designed to modernize and streamline on-site workflows.
Until recently, these solutions were introduced almost exclusively through PDF documents. While functional, PDFs were static, difficult to update, and poorly suited to sales or marketing contexts. EARTHBRAIN needed a more dynamic and professional way to present its technology.
Challenge
The opportunity came with a major company event scheduled for late May. EARTHBRAIN wanted to launch a set of landing pages—one for each Smart Construction solution—accessible via QR codes printed on brochures. Visitors could scan the codes and instantly access up-to-date product information on their phones.
The challenge was not only technical but cultural. Previous collaborations with agencies had produced uninspired results, leaving leadership skeptical about the web as a strategic channel. Initially, EARTHBRAIN considered handling all digital work internally to guarantee quality, but with the event looming, the team lacked both time and resources.
Supasaito’s Approach
Supasaito was brought in under a tight deadline to build the Smart Construction website. The client shared Figma designs, though they were incomplete, so both teams agreed to adopt an agile, collaborative process.
This approach included:
- Developing pages while designs evolved, with continuous updates and refinements.
- Making live changes during calls, where Supasaito implemented feedback in real time—a practice that deeply impressed the client.
- Unifying design inconsistencies across pages, ensuring a coherent style as the project evolved.
- Proactively suggesting improvements to layouts, interactions, and overall presentation.
Within six weeks, Supasaito delivered around ten landing pages, all launched on time for the event.
Results
For the first time, Smart Construction had a modern, digital presence that went far beyond static documents.
Key outcomes included:
- Seamless QR-based access, allowing event visitors to explore solutions directly from their phones.
- A centralized platform for managing product information, replacing outdated PDFs.
- A significant cultural shift inside Earthbrain: leadership began to see the website not as a formality, but as a strategic sales and marketing tool.
- Renewed confidence in outsourcing, as Supasaito’s speed, quality, and proactive collaboration exceeded expectations.
Following the launch, EARTHBRAIN expanded the platform by creating more than 20 new pages internally within the first year—an outcome made possible by the autonomy gained through Webflow. Leadership also noted that replicating the same scope with an external vendor would have cost over ¥20 million, meaning the project not only empowered their team but also delivered substantial cost savings.
Lessons Learned
For Supasaito, the Smart Construction project was a milestone in operating under truly agile conditions. It strengthened our ability to:
- Deliver effectively even when designs were incomplete.
- Maintain consistency across multiple evolving pages.
- Collaborate in real time, balancing responsiveness with technical precision.
These lessons became a foundation for how we now approach projects requiring high flexibility and rapid iteration.
Ongoing Relationship
What began as an urgent outsourcing project grew into a long-term partnership. The success of the Smart Construction website positioned Supasaito as a trusted collaborator, opening the door to additional projects with EARTHBRAIN — from training initiatives to further site development.
